ACCESS STATEMENT

The Fleece House is situated in a hilly part of town, on top of a hill. It is an 18th Century house composed of two buildings and has varying floor levels throughout.

The Fleece House is run single handed by a lady of mature age. She has spinal problems and therefore could only provide limited physical assistance.

Car Parking - Free car parking across the street , no reserved spaces for the disabled. Unrestricted on road parking.

Main Entrance - accessible to pedestrians only.

Level path to the house - brick pavers - path width 770mm.

Alternative access from the street via the lounge but then three steps up (no handrail) to the entrance hall.

Entrance Door - width 770mm.

Internal Doors - 690mm - 770mm wide, doors have doorknobs and pneumatic door closures for fire protection - strong push to enter and strong pull to leave required.

Internal Steps - One step down, from entrance to hallway (no handrail). Three steps down to breakfast room and lounge (no handrail). Thirteen steps up to first floor accommodation (one handrail).Three steps down from first floor landing to guests accommodation (one handrail) then one step up to each bedroom (no handrail).

• Floor Surface - Hall and dining areas : ceramic tiles. Lounge : exposed wood floor with rugs.Staircase to first floor : laminated wood.First floor hallway bedrooms and bathrooms : carpeted

• Ground Floor en suite bedroom : size approx 3400mm x 2700mm. En suite shower 2700mm x 1000mm.

• Fire Exit Staircase from first floor : carpeted, ten steps down, risers 220mm - 230mm high (one partial, non continuous handrail).

• No induction loop or other aids for the deaf or hard of hearing.
TV set with teletex and audio entry for headphones available.
